Most visitors watch the wrong variable. Rain chances dominate the forecast app, but wind is what cancels boats — and a sunny, breezy day scrubs more trips than a drizzly calm one.
Understanding that inversion makes every cancellation policy suddenly legible, and it changes how you build the week.
The short answer
Watch wind, not rain. Book mornings, because summer storms build in the afternoon. Schedule water days early in the stay so a cancellation becomes a reschedule. Then trust the operator's call — they decide, and they are conservative for good reasons.
