Beachfront or a Short Walk to the Beach?

Beachfront commands a premium, and for some trips it earns every bit of it. For others it buys a view you will be looking at from a chair on the sand anyway.
The complication is language. Beachfront, beach access, private beach and deeded access are not used consistently between listings, which makes this a question you must ask rather than infer.
The short answer
Pay for beachfront when you have young children, mobility considerations, or intend to go back and forth to the room several times a day.
Take the short walk when the group heads out once and stays, and you would rather put the difference toward activities.
