Dog-Friendly Destin: Can the Dog Come

Updated

Can the dog come?

Almost certainly not on a shared trip, and possibly on a private one. This is entirely the operator's decision and there is no general answer.

We hold no pet policies for any operator and we are not going to guess at them. What we can tell you is which format has any chance of a yes, and that is the private one, because the boat is yours for the day.

What this does to each of the seven

All seven are here, including the ones this constraint rules out. A page that only listed what still works would be hiding the part you most need.

Ask before assuming

  • Crab Island

Depends entirely on the boat. A private rental or charter is where the question is worth asking.

  • Pontoon rentals

Some rental companies permit it. It is a question for the company, not for the category.

  • Private boat charters

The only one with a genuine chance. Ask before you assume, and expect conditions.

Rules this out in practice

What to ask before you pay

Take these to the operator, not to us. They are the only ones who can answer for their own boat, and a good operator will answer all three without hedging.

  • Do you allow dogs at all, and under what conditions?
  • Is there shade and fresh water aboard?
  • What happens if the dog is not coping?

Or tell us the constraint and we will ask on your behalf

What we do not publish

We publish no pet policies, no dog-friendly beach information and no kennel or day-care listings. We hold none of it.
