What this shape gives up
Every itinerary trades something. Naming the trade is more useful than pretending it does not exist.
- Seasons and harvest limits are set by regulators and change year to year — no trip can promise a species.
- Offshore is the least forgiving water for anyone prone to motion sickness.
- Party boats are far cheaper and genuinely fun, at the cost of rail space and a fixed schedule.
If the weather turns
- Captains move trips inshore rather than cancelling when wind allows it — ask.
- Booking on day two leaves day three and four as reschedule room.
Before you travel
- Ask which species are realistic on your exact dates, and who sets those seasons
- Confirm whether passengers fish under the boat's licence
- Confirm what is included: bait, tackle, ice, cleaning
- Ask the weather policy and what happens to the deposit
- Ask whether a restroom and shade are aboard
